TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced that mosques in the coastal enclave will reopen soon for Friday and Eid al-Fitr prayers.

In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said all health protocols must be observed by worshippers to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Reuters reported.

They include wearing face masks, maintaining a certain distance and refusing to shake hands, it added.

Mosques in Gaza have been shut since March 25 to stem the coronavirus outbreak.

The Gaza Strip has recorded 20 coronavirus cases, 16 of whom have recovered from the disease.
