US Withdrawal from Iraq A Matter of When, Not If: PMU
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A senior member of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) said the PMU is a national resistance force that will remain in the country but the US forces will leave Iraq sooner or later.
Ali Al-Husseini condemned attempts by some Western countries and Arab states of the Persian Gulf region to undermine the PMU, also known as Hashd al-Shaabi, al-Maalomah website reported.
The US and its allies are trying to take revenge on the PMU because the PMU forces thwarted their plots to split up Iraq and defeated the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group, he added.
Some Western and Arab countries have launched a propaganda campaign against the PMU in recent days with the aim of inciting Fitna (sedition), al-Husseini deplored.
He went on to say that the national resistance force will remain in Iraq despite all plots but the US forces will leave the country sooner or later.
