Cultural Organizations’ Role in Nat’l Unity Discussed in Uganda
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, it was organized in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Uganda in line with the programs of the center to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Mohammadreza Qezelsofla, Iranian cultural attaché in the African country, Charles Kazova, director of Homeland cultural, social and media institute, Naser Kasuzi, head of the cultural and media institute of Uganda and Jevan Tendo a member of the institute.
The Iranian official elaborated on the important role of cultural institutes and organizations in preservation of national unity, scientific and cultural heritage, self-confidence, belief in local abilities, self-esteem, culture for development, awakening the youth, promoting social abilities, etc.
Referring to the verse 11 of Surah Ra’d of the Holy Quran, “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves”, he stressed the necessity of changing viewpoints to reach stable local development.
He also appreciated the influential role of Homeland Institute in strengthening the framework of national identity in Uganda and promoting moral and spiritual virtues in society.
The director of the institute expressed willingness to get reliable news about Iran and Islamic issues from Iranian media outlets such as Press TV and hoped that easy access to these media outlets will be made available in Uganda and other African countries.
