Leader Attends Mourning Ceremony Marking Imam Sajjad (AS) Martyrdom
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei attended a ceremony to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS), the fourth Shia Imam.
The ceremony was held in Tehran on Monday morning with the full observance of the health protocols and without the presence of people unlike previous years.
Six elegists recited elegies in mourning of Imam Sajjad (AS) martyrdom.
Today was the 25th day of the lunar Hijri month of Muharram, marking the martyrdom anniversary of the 4th Imam (AS).
Imam Sajjad (AS) was martyred by poisoning on 25th Muharram in the year 95 AH in Medina and is buried at Baqi Cemetery in Medina.
