TEHRAN (IQNA) – Participants in an international conference titled “Big Unforgivable Sin” called on international legal organizations to indict those desecrating the Quran and Islam’s Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The conference was organized Thursday by Ashura International Foundation to condemn desecration of Islamic sanctities in Europe.

The Lebanese Muslim Scholars Council, the Scholars Council of Palestine and Lebanese center Ummah Wahida cooperated in holding the online event.

The participants released a statement at the end of the conference, saying the recent republication of insulting cartoons of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by a French magazine and acts of burning copies of the Quran were big unforgivable sins that hurt the feelings of over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide.

They called for trial and punishment of those behind such acts of desecration and urged Muslim and Arab countries and other nations in the world to condemn such insulting moves.

The statement also denounced normalization deals between two Persian Gulf Arab states with Israel as betrayal of Palestine and the Palestinian cause.
