TEHRAN (IQNA) – Like the previous two years, a convoy of Iranian Quranic figures and activists will start traveling to different cities of the country in January to hold programs on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

The convoy will include Quran reciters, memorizers and Tawasheeh groups, according to Hojat-ol-Islam Shafiei, the secretary of a committee organizing the programs.

He said the convoy’s trips will begin on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone attack in Iraq on January 3, 2020.

Shafiei added that the convoy will travel to cities and towns in 8 provinces of the country.

He noted that all of the programs of the convoy will be organized with the full observance of the health protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

A meeting was held recently with officials of the Quran TV and other media outlets to cover the programs, he went on to say.

Every year, millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Dawn, which culminates with rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 42 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
