Registration began on December 31 via the website of the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry, which organizes the exams annually.
The northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan has the highest number of people signing up for the exams.
This year, due to the coronavirus restrictions, the examinations will be held virtually.
There will be 14 categories, including 9 in the Quran memorization section, 3 in the field of the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and 2 in the field of Quranic concepts and Quran translation.
The date of the exams, which will be in February, is going to be announced later.
There are no age limits for those interested in taking the exams.
