1,000 Quran Institutes, Centers, Publishers to Attend Virtual Quran Expo

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first virtual edition of Iran’s International Quran Exhibition will start on Saturday, May 1, the Quran and Etrat Deputy of the Culture Ministry said.

Abdol Hadi Feqhizadeh said the opening ceremony will be held at noon Saturday with the participation of Culture Minister Seyed Abbas Salehi.

He added that more than 1,000 Quran institutes, Qurani centers and publishers will take part in the expo.

According to the official, more than 30 specialized forums on Quranic issues will be held during the exhibition, including webinars to be attended by scholars and experts from 10 countries.

Feqhizadeh said the expo can be visited 24-7 and that it will run until Monday, May 10.

He went on to say that in the coming years, the exhibition will be held in both in-person and virtual formats.

The virtual expo is going to be held instead of the annual international Quran exhibition that was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan.

It is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

The expo showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.

The novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has infected more than 109 million people around the world.

The outbreak has had a major impact on global sporting, cultural, religious and political events, with a host of events canceled or postponed.
