Lebanese Institute Continues Quranic Activities despite Economic Difficulties: President
Speaking to IQNA, Haj Adil Khalil said the institute was founded 35 years ago and has 21 branches in different parts of Lebanon, including Beirut, Tyre, Baalbek, Nabatieh and Hermel.
It has launched branches with donations from benefactors given the need for teaching the Quran, he said.
Khalil added that the institute is a leading one in training qaris and Quran memorizers and promoting the concepts and teachings of the Holy Book.
It organizes winter and summer Quranic courses, he said, noting that the summer courses are welcomed more by the students as they are on summer holidays and have more time to learn the Quran.
Referring to the current economic situation in Lebanon, he said the institute has been affected by the financial conditions but has not stopped its Quranic activities.
Earlier this week, the institute announced that it will organize a students’ Quran competition named Martyr Sayed Abbas Mousawi Award, saying it will feature memorization and Tajweed recitation of the Quran.
The categories are memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book along with observation of the Tajweed rules.
Students from different parts of Lebanon will take part in the Quranic event at the headquarters of the institute in Beirut’s southern suburbs on December 25.
