It was organized on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the former IRGC Quds Force commander and former deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units.

A large number of people from different parts of Iraq attended the event, which was addressed by the daughters of the two martyrs as well as PMU Commander Faleh al-Fayyadh, former Iraqi prime minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, and head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim.

Zeinab Soleimani, in her address, said her father loved the people of Iraq and wished to see Iraq become a powerful country.

She added that revenge will soon be taken for the blood of the great martyrs.

Manar al-Muhandis also stressed revenge for the two martyrs and their companions.

Faleh al-Fayyadh in his speech said the enemies sought to break the will of the resistance countries’ people for victory but they failed.

He also underscored the Iraqi people’s opposition to the presence of US forces in the country.

Abdul Mahdi and al-Hakim also paid tribute to General Soleimani and al-Muhandis, the “martyrs of victory”.

General Soleimani, al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US president Donald Trump.

Two days later, on January 5, 2020, Iraqi lawmakers unanimously approved a bill, demanding the withdrawal of all foreign military forces led by the United States from the country.
