Founder of Darul Hadith Dies in Kano, Nigeria

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A prominent Nigerian scholar and the founder of Darul Hadith Institute died at 79.

Sheikh Ahmad Ibrahim Bamba, who was a senior Muslim scholar in Kano, died on Friday morning.

He had been hospitalized for a brief illness, legit.ng website reported.

Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad, one of the scholar’s sons, announced his death.  

Sheikh Bamba used to be an Arabic language instructor at the Bayero University Kano but resigned and established his own Islamic school named Darul Hadith.

Nigeria is a country on the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa.

About 50 percent of the country’s population is estimated to be Muslim, while 40 percent are Christians and 10 adhere to local religions.
