Quran Experts from 10 Countries Serving in Arbiters’ Panel of Iran Int’l Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – As the preliminary stage of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 38th International Holy Quran Competition got underway in the women’s section on Sunday, the organizers announced the names of members of panel of arbiters.

According to the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, a total of 28 Quran experts from Iran and a number of other countries serve in the panel.

The foreign experts in the panel are from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Morocco, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Bahrain and Kuwait.

The women’s section will run for a period of two days, before the men’s section starts on January 12 and run through January 15.

Participants at this stage have already sent their performances and the preliminary stage is being held virtually, with contestants able to see the process of judging their performance with a link given to them.

A total of 190 contestants from 69 countries have participated in the first round of the competition.

Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the international Quranic event with the participation of Quran activists from various countries.

Quran memorizers and reciters from 67 countries took part in the final round of the 37th edition of the contest, which was held on March 6-11, 2021.
