38th Iran’s Int’l Holy Quran Contest:

Preliminary Stage for Women Categories Wraps Up

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stage of the women’s categories of the 38th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition wrapped up on Monday.

The panel of arbiters, comprising 11 Iranian and 5 foreign experts, started evaluating participants’ performances on Sunday morning.

A total of 190 contestants from 69 countries have taken part in this year’s edition of the event.

The secretariat of the competition has already received videos of the participants in different categories and the panel of arbiters just assess their works in this stage while contestants can see the process of evaluation live.

The preliminary stage for men will start on Tuesday, going through for four days.

Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the international Quranic event with the participation of Quran activists from various countries.

Quran memorizers and reciters from 67 countries took part in the final round of the 37th edition of the contest, which was held on March 6-11, 2021.
