The copies that have been imported from abroad have printing errors and some of the verses are missing in them, the ministry said on Wednesday, Arabi21 website reported.

Abdullah Al-Aqil, an official with the ministry, called on imams of mosques, preachers and officials of Quran institutes to find and collect the copies to be disposed of.

He said in some of the copies that the ministry has inspected there are printing errors in Surah An-Nisa and Al-Anfal, and some parts of Surah Ash-Shu’ara are missing.

The ministry has contacted the publisher in the foreign country to ask for the correction of the errors, he said.

He also noted that importing Quran copies the country needs permission given after three experts inspect them to make sure there are no errors in them.
