Institute to Launch 40 Specialized Quran Memorization Schools in Iran

Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Reza Shahsavani said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Education Ministry on the plan.

According to the cleric, students at these schools study the usual school lessons in addition to memorizing the Holy Book and studying Quranic sciences.

They learn the Quran reading, Tajweed, memorization and interpretation, he said.

Institutionalizing a Quran-based education system is the main objective of the initiative, Hojat-ol-Islam Shahsavani stated.

He referred to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s demand about training 10 million Quran memorizers in the country, and said it is hoped that such plans would contribute to it and a new approach about teaching the Holy Quran from an early age would be created in the education system.
