Large Gathering Planned in Tehran to Mark Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS)

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony is planned in Tehran on Friday to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS).

The Sadeqiyeh Square in west of Tehran will host the large gathering like previous years.

It will start at 10:30 AM with the participation of religious figures, preachers, imams of mosques, elegy reciters and other groups of people.

The ceremony will include recitation of Al Yaseen Supplication, a speech by Hojat-ol-Islam Salehnia and elegy recitations by Saeed and Mohammad Hossein Hadadian and Abdol Reza Helali.

The martyrdom of Imam Sadiq (AS) is observed on the 25^th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shawwal. It is a national holiday in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Shia Muslims and others in Iran and other countries hold various rituals to mourn the martyrdom of the 6^th Imam (AS).
