--Quranic gatherings titled “Acquaintance with Quran” are underway in a number of cities in the country with two foreign female Quran reciters performing recitations.
Serina Huni from Indonesia and Mashite from Thailand have come to Iran on invitations by the Quran and Etrat Center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. Their visit to Iran is part of a program according to which female Quran reciters from Islamic countries are invited to Iran every year on the occasion of Hazrat Fatemeh’s (SA) birthday anniversary to recite Quranic verses in women’s Quranic gatherings.

Last year some twenty Quranic gatherings were held in the country attended by six female Quran reciters from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Ms Huni and MS Mashite perform recitations of verses from the holy Quran in the cities of Bojnourd, Semnan, Qazvin, Tehran, Mashhad, Zahedan, Birjand, Ardebil, Yazd, and Kerman.

They will conclude their trip to Iran by visiting Jamaran (formerly residence of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini) on Tir 15 (July 6).
