--Kawthar Tawashih (religious song) Group, made up of 6 Quran reciters from the southeast city of Yazd, Iran, traveled to 16 European cities performing Islamic gongs for Muslim minorities during the holy month of Ramadan.
Group member Mojtaba Malek-Afzali told the Iranian Quran News Agency (IQNA) that during their 24-day stay in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, they visited 16 cities in which they did Islamic songs in Persian, Arabic, Turkish, French and Bosnian for Muslims and their performances were received well.

"It was the first time for French Muslims to listen to a Tawashih in their mother tongue that's why they were so exited during our performance," he added.

Malek-Afzali pointed to the role of Tawashih groups in promoting the culture of the Quran beyond borders and called on relevant authorities to devote more attention to Quranic groups.
