Iran, Indonesia Sign Religious Cooperation Agreement

--An agreement was signed in Jakarta between Iran and Indonesia to expand religious cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was signed in a meeting attended by members of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and Indonesia’s Majlis-ul-Ulama.
Among those attending were Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, ranking member of the forum, and Umidan board member of the Majlis-ul-Ulama.
Based on the accord, the two sides will set up a joint committee to develop religious, cultural and educational cooperations with the aim of promoting the Islamic thought and strengthening Islamic unity and fraternity.
The participants also decided to hold another meeting in Tehran in near future to discuss ways for enhancing cooperation, among them establishing a forum of Iranian and Indonesian Ulema.
