Islamic Unity Conference Concludes in Tehran

--The 23rd international conference on Islamic unity came to a close in Tehran on Thursday, March 4.
Secretary general of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Taskhiri, Minsiter of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini , and thinkers and scholars from different countries were present at the closing ceremony.
In an address to the ceremony, the Culture Minister extended congratulations to the participants on the auspicious birth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and said that the holy Prophet (PBUH) created fraternity and unity among the Ummah through his conduct which was based on the holy Quran.
He also stressed that holy Prophet (PBUH) warned against disunity and discord and tried to remove the causes behind disunity in the Islamic Ummah.
Further in the program, top figures in the field of proximity of Islamic schools of thought were honored.
The 23rd conference on Islamic Unity concluded by issuing a statement in which the need for all Muslims to strive for strengthening Islamic unity was stressed.
150 scholars and thinkers from 48 countries attended the three-day conference in Tehran.
