-- Efforts to break the siege on Gaza have become universal and the Zionist regime is becoming more and more isolated, Tehran interim Friday prayer leader said.
Addressing worshipers Friday at the University of Tehran’s campus, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati condemned the UN Security Council for failing to take a proper stance against the Zionist Regime’s raid on the Freedom Flotilla.
He also criticized the silence of some countries and international figures in the face of the Zionists’ barbaric act and stressed that the siege on Gaza must end.
Referring to the adoption of the fourth round of UN Security Council sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Jannati said that the Iranian nation is not afraid of sanctions and resolutions and that such measures would only strengthen Iranians’ resolve to pursue more development and advancements.
“With God’s blessings and under the prudent leadership of the Supreme Leader and with the Iranian nation’s support, such threats have always been turned into opportunities for us and a source of disgrace to the United States,” he said.
Elsewhere in his sermon, Tehran interim Friday prayer leader extended condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hadi (AS) and elaborated on the virtues of the month of Rajab (the seventh month of the Islamic calendar).
