Ayatollah Fadlallah’s Demise Commemorated in Tehran

-- A ceremony was held yesterday, July 22, at Tehran’s Nur Mosque to commemorate late Lebanese Shia source of emulation grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.
Present at the ceremony were the late Ayatollah’s son Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi Golpayegani head of the office of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Jannati secretary of the Guardian Council, Masud Zaribafan on behalf of the president, Ayatollah Taskhiri secretary general of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hojat-ol-Islam Akhtari president of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Forum, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel head of the Majlis’ cultural commission, as well as other high-ranking officials and ambassadors of some Islamic countries.
It began with reading the message of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on the demise of Ayatollah Fadlallah followed by recitation of verses from the holy Quran by internationally-acclaimed Iranian reciter Hassan Rezaeeyan.
Addressing the event, Hojat-ol-Islam Sayyed Ali Fadlallah stressed late Allameh Fadlallah’s all-out support for the Islamic revolution. “Allameh Fadlallah believed Iran is the main base for Islam and the world’s freedom-seekers and the main country supporting the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and Palestine.”
Also speaking was Hojat-ol-Islam Araki member of the supreme council of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Forum who elaborated on the character of late Ayatollah Fadlallah and his all-out support for the Islamic revolution and the Supreme Leader.
Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah passed away on 4 July in a Beirut hospital at the age of 75 of internal bleeding.
