1st Int’l Conference on Martyr Heroes of Islamic World in Tehran

--The first international conference on Commemoration of Martyr Heroes of Islamic World was held on February 19, in Tehran.
According to IQNA’s correspondent, a large number of internationally known prominent figures attended the event which was held at Interior Ministry’s conference hall.
Ali Larijani, Iranian Speaker of the Majlis (Islamic Consultative Assembly) and Abdollah Safieddin, head of Hezbollah Organization’s office in Iran were among the figures who addressed the event.
Ali larijani pointed out in his speech that Imam Khomeini’s (RA) movement taught us to confront the seditions through the Islamic school of thoughts. The movement is a religious one which traces its origins in the movement of beginning of Islam.
Referring to the heroic character of Imad Fayez Mughniyah, he noted that “He played a major role in expelling the Zionist troops from south of Lebanon”.
He further said that martyr heroes of the Islamic world spared no efforts to raise Islamic awareness in Muslim societies.
Congratulating the Islamic Ummah on the occasions of birth anniversaries of the holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Sadegh (AS) as well as the Week of Unity, Abdollah Safieddin, for his part, regarded the role of the Islamic Revolution as influential in the region.
Referring to the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he added that “The Revolution developed a wave of awareness all around the globe in a way that the Zionist regime regarded it as an earthquake for Israel”.
He went on to say that the current uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Bahrain are inspired by the Islamic Revolution of Iran and martyrdoms of thousands of martyrs such as: Imad Fayez Mughniyah.
Ayatollah Jannati, Iranian chairman of Guardian Council, was also present at the conference.
