Quran Olympiad to Kick off

-- As many as 200 contestants are to compete at the first Quran Olympiad, beginning on April 26 in Meybod, Yazd province.
Special for the scholars, students and staff of the 14 faculties affiliated to the University of Quranic Sciences, the first edition of Quran Olympiad is scheduled to be held in Meybod on April 26-28, director of the University of Quranic Sciences’ Information Center told IQNA.
Having taken the written exam on April 18, contestants are getting ready for the oral section consisting of 11 categories concerning recitation, memorization, translation, interpretation, etc, he noted.
Having 14 branches spread throughout the country, the University of Quranic Sciences is supervised by Owqaf and Charity Organization and trains students in Quran-related fields of knowledge at BA as well as MA levels.
