The cultural centers in the country are not working efficiently to develop the culture of Hijab, an author and researcher in women affairs said.
Talking to IQNA about the challenging question of Hijab in the country, Maryam Moinoleslam said: “There are different social and ideological factors responsible for the problem; the most pressing one is holding shaky religious beliefs.”
Referring to an unwavering faith in God and the Resurrection, she added that most women who do not observe Hijab have not yet realized the significance of this issue and they actually do not believe in the Resurrection and Judgment Day.
Criticizing the lack of serious efforts to practically show advantages of Hijab for men and women in society, she called for a long-term plan to be organized in this regard.
Ms Moinoleslam further referred to some "superficial" ideas held by a group of young women concerning Hijab in society as well as the incompatible and often contradictory attitudes of the cultural centers, noting that only those with firm religious beliefs can dispel such what she called "baseless views".
“The existing conflicts and contradictions in presenting suitable models to the youth have further aggravated the situation, as they fail to find the right way in this chaos,” she went on to say.
Stressing the importance of Hijab as the symbol of religious piety, she urged the corresponding officials to treat the issue more seriously, not just on occasions, and further promote the culture of respecting Hijab in society in order to preserve the pillars of family.
