Students Meet Supreme Leader
Thousands of university and school students met Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei this morning, November 2.
The meeting took place at Imam Khomeini Hosseiniya two days before the anniversary of the 1979 capture of the American embassy in Tehran known as the den of espionage.
On November 4, 1979, a group of university students took over the US embassy in Tehran. They objected to U.S. influence in Iran and its support of the recently fallen Shah of Iran who had been restored to power by a CIA funded coup in 1953.
Iranians mark the occasion every year by staging anti-American and anti-Zionist rallies in cities across the country.
