1st Specialized University of Quran & Islamic Sciences Opens in Yemen

Yemen’s first specialized University of Quran and Islamic Sciences was inaugurated in a ceremony in the capital city of Sana’a.
Prime Minister Muhammad Salem Basindwa was present in the official ceremony, in which 300 top Quran students were also honored.
Addressing the event, Basindwa said encouraging the Quranic community and Islamic sciences experts is a must.
He also said that the newly-established university used to be a college named Higher College of the Quran.
Some 20 million Yemeni rials of funds were spent for establishing the University of Quran and Islamic Sciences.
The university has several colleges and trains students in various specializations in the field of Quranic and Islamic sciences.
