As the end of the Muslims Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, Gazans are preparing to welcome Eid Al-Ftir under special circumstances this year.
Gazans are not only suffering from the Israeli blockade, but also from the unjustified closure Egypt has imposed on Gaza after the deadly attack on Egyptian soldiers near the crossing by unknown attackers.
Egypt has opened the Rafah crossing with Gaza for only three days ahead of Eid al-Fitr. However, tight regulations are imposed on travellers taking away their chance to spend Eid al-Fitr holiday with their families and their loved ones.
Due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and Egyptian closure on Gaza, Gazans are burdened with price increases. This phenomenon equally affects buyers and sellers, as sellers pay more to get their goods into Gaza and buyers are forced to meet with those prices just for the fact its Eid."
The Holy month of Ramdan has come to an end leaving the power and fuel shortage severe problem with no end. Gazans wonder how they are going to spend Eid al-Fitr while they only enjoy electricity for several hours everyday.
Gazans say Eid has already lost its meaning even before it starts, for they are not able to prepare for Eid rituals the way they hoped.
Under the tough conditions caused by the baseless Egyptian closure and the Israeli Blockade Gazans prepare for Eid al-Fitr this year.
