Senior Seminary Scholar Passes away
Senior ethics scholar of Qom Seminary Ayatollah Seyyed Abdullah Jafari Tehrani passed away on Thursday, August 24.
He died of lung disease on Thursday at the age of 90.
Ayatollah Jafari Tehrani was a top scholar in the fields of ethics, Irfan (mysticism), and philosophy and taught at the seminaries of Qom and Tehran.
He had studied with prominent scholars including Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi, Imam Khomeini, Allameh Tabatabaee, Ayatollah Mohaqqeq-Damad, grand Ayatollah Golpayegani, grand Ayatollah Araki, Ayatollah Sadr and Ayatollah Khansari.
The late scholar led congregational prayers in a mosque in Fasham, north of Tehran and many people and seminary students attended his sessions on ethics
His body will be laid to rest in Qom in a ceremony on Saturday morning, August 25. There will also be a memorial service in Qom on Saturday night.
