Secretary of the National Quran Recitation Plan said half of the country’s provinces have joined the plan so far.
Hossein Moqaddamkia told IQNA that in the past year, the necessary preparations have been made to implement the plan all over the country.
He referred to Hamedan, Qom, Kashan, Damghan, Qazvin and Yazd as some of the cities that have recently joined the plan.
Registration for taking part in the plan’s activities started in September and will continue until October 12, he stated.
Moqaddamkia noted that the plan was developed by the Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy given the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s emphasis on the need for promotion of Quran memorization and recitation.
He said identifying Quranic capacities and training Quranic talents in the field of recitation are among the objectives of the plan.
The official went on to say that coordination has been made with the Education Ministry, Dar-ul-Quran centers and mosques to best implement the plan.
