TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman denied the “unfounded and fictitious” allegation raised by the Manama regime that Iran has been involved in a pipeline blast in Bahrain.

Iran Rejects Bahrain’s Baseless Allegations

"It seems the only thing Bahraini officials have learned to say after any incident happening in that island is making accusations against Iran,” Bahram Qassemi said.

"They should know that the era of making such baseless and made-up statements and childish accusations is over,” he added.

"We have always insisted and emphasized that we consider the stability and security of our neighbors as our own stability and security,” he went on to say.

Bahrain on Saturday said an explosion which caused a fire at its main oil pipeline on Friday was caused by "terrorist” sabotage, accusing Iran of involvement in the unprecedented attack.

Bahrain, a close ally of the US in the Persian Gulf region, has been witnessing almost daily protests against the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty since early 2011, with Manama using heavy-handed measures in an attempt to crush the demonstrations.

Scores of Bahrainis have been killed and hundreds of others injured and arrested in the ongoing crackdown on the peaceful demonstrations.
