Winners of Iran Int’l Quran Competitions Awarded

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 36th International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran and four other international Quranic events concluded in a ceremony on Sunday evening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winners of the two categories of the contest, as well as international Quran competitions for women, the visually-impaired, seminary students and school students were announced and awarded at the ceremony.

The panel of judges announced Salman Amrullah from Indonesia as the top winner in the recitation category.

The runner-up was Iran’s Mehdi Gholamnejad and Mohammad Reza Salman from Iraq, Ahmed Mir Abdul Aziz from Egypt and Wan Ainuddin Helmi from Malaysia came third to fifth respectively.

In memorization, Mohamamd Javad Moradi from Iran bagged the top prize. The other top winners in this category were Abdoli Tawfiq from Algeria, Ahmed Badreddin Hamami from Syria, Ahmed Osama from Mauritania, and Akram bin Zakaria al-Balghuti from Tunisia.

As for the other four competitions, Maryam Shafiei from Iran was announced the winner of the contest for women, while al-Sayyed Hamdir Ibrahim from Egypt came first in the memorization of the entire Quran for the visually-impaired.

In the Quran competition for school students, Zainab Aminpour from Iran came first in memorization for girls, Abdul Alim Abdul Rahim Mohammad Haji from Kenya went home with the top prize in memorization for boys and Amir Hossein Rahmati from Iran bagged the top prize in recitation of the Quran.

The international Quran competitions had started in Iran on Wednesday with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from 84 countries.
