Int’l Quran Contest for Women Kicks Off in Dubai

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 4th edition of the international Quran competition for women in Dubai got underway on Saturday.

 

The competition, titled Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, started in a ceremony attended by Quranic and religious officials, WAM news agency reported.

Contenders from Si Lanka, Ghana, Chad, Jordan, Congo, Senegal, Syria, the US, Uganda, Kosovo and Ivory Coast went on the stage on the first night of the event to showcase their Quranic talents.

Representatives of 68 countries are competing in this edition of the international Quran contest, which will run for a week.

Iran’s representative is Zeynab Feyzi, an 8-year old girl from Tehran.

The three top winners will be respectively awarded 250000, 200000 and 150000 Emirati dirhams, according to the organizers.
