Iran Nat’l Quran Contest for University Students to Kick Off Tomorrow

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 34th edition of Iran’s national Quran competition for university students will get underway in a ceremony on Tuesday morning.

 

The Islamic Azad University of the southern city of Shiraz, Fars province, will host the ceremony at 9 am.

It will begin with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Vahid Sarvestani, one of the province’s top Qaris, followed by speeches by officials and organizers.

Participants will then start the competition in different categories, including recitation and memorization of the Quran, Adhan recitation, and Tawasheeh (religious singing).

Winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony, slated to be held on Thursday at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine.
