Officials in Charge of Holding Iran Int’l Quran Contest Appointed

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization announced the names of officials in charge of holding the next edition of the country’s International Quran Competition.

 

According to the organization, Mehdi Qarasheikhlu will head the organizing committee while Karim Dolati will serve as its secretary.

It also named other officials of the committee including Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Kazem Mousavi Mottaqi who heads the cultural department and Shozab Shiri who is in charge of the analysis and supervision department.

The 37th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition will be held in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad next year.

In the 2020 edition, a new category, namely Tarteel recitation of the Quran, will be added to the competition’s categories.

The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the competition with the participation of Quran activists from various countries.

Quran reciters and memorizers from over 80 countries took part in the 36th edition, held in Tehran in April 2019.
