Winners of Iraq Nat’l Quran Contest Honored
The awarding ceremony was held in Kadhimiya north of Baghdad on Friday morning.
The competition was organized by the National Quranic Sciences Center affiliated to the Shia Awqaf Office of Iraq in cooperation with the Astan (custodianship) of Kadhimiya holy shrines.
The contenders competed in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and recitation.
The top winners in the first category were Muhammad Akram Naees, Hussein Abdul Reza Abdullah, and Mustafa Tahsin al-Haidari.
In recitation, Hussein Ali Hussein bagged the top prize. The runner-up was Yaas Fadhl Muhanna and Falah Zalif Atya came third.
Members of the panel of judges and members of the organizing committees were also honored at the ceremony.
