TEHRAN (IQNA) – Palestinian and Lebanese scholars attending a meeting on the US’ so-called peace plan for the Middle East, slammed the US scheme and stressed that Jerusalem al-Quds is not for sale.

The meeting was held Sunday evening in Sidon, with the participation of a number of scholars and figures, including Sheikh Maher Hamoud, head of the Union of Resistance Scholars, and Sheikh Hassan Abdullah, the Mufti of Tyre and Jabal Amel.

The participants underlined that US President Donald Trump and others who are making attempts for Arab and Muslim countries’ normalization of ties with the Zionist regime have no right to decide for the Palestinian nation.

None of them have a right to give even an iota of Palestinian lands to the Zionist regime, they said.

The scholars called for unity among all Palestinians to counter the plan, which Trump has called the “deal of the century”.

They went on to stress that the holy city of Quds and Palestine are not for sale.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump unveiled his so-called deal of the century, negotiated with Israel but without the Palestinians.

Palestinian leaders, who severed all ties with Washington in late 2017 after Trump controversially recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime, immediately rejected the plan, with President Abbas saying it “belongs to the dustbin of history.”

Thousands of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip poured onto the street in immediate condemnation of the plan.

Abbas has said “a thousand no's” to the plan.
