Indian PM Highlights Imam Hussein’s Emphasis on Truth, Justice

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid homage to Imam Hussein (AS) on Sunday, saying nothing was more important to him than the values of truth and justice.

"We recall the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS). For him, there was nothing more important than the values of truth and justice. His emphasis on equality as well as fairness are noteworthy and give strength to many," he tweeted, according to the India Times.

This year, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the annual processions have been barred in most parts of India.

The day of Ashura is being observed across the world on Sunday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).
