TEHRAN (IQNA) – The flag of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam, in Mashhad, northeast Iran, was replaced in a ceremony on Tuesday.
The ceremony was held on the third day of the lunar Hijri month of Rab al-Awwal and a green flag was raised instead of a black one that was there for two months (Muharram and Safar) symbolizing mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).
