Islamic Jihad Envoy Highlights Gen. Soleimani’s Role in Uniting Resistance Movements

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Iran underlined the role Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani played in creating and strengthening unity among Palestinian resistance groups.

Nasser Abu Sharif said the role of the martyred general was a major factor in resistance forces’ unity, Iranpress reported.

Were it not for the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hajj Qassem, the resistance forces would not be able to stand against the Zionist and US aggressions and onslaughts today, he added.

Thanks to the faith, insistence and planning of General Soleimani, the Gaza Strip saw growth and development and the Palestinian resistance can now stand against the Zionist regime’s biggest attacks and even target the Zionist enemy, Abu Sharif went on to say.

Lieutenant General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and his Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Units, were assassinated along with their companions in a US terror drone strike authorized by Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

Both commanders were admired by Muslim nations for their role in eliminating the US-sponsored Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria as well as Palestine.
