The activists’ move came in appreciation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the resistance forces in the recent Israeli war that led to Palestinians’ victory, according to Al-Alam TV. Last year, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei reiterated Iran’s support for the Palestinian struggle against the occupying regime.
Iran “will not spare any effort to support the oppressed people of Palestine, to revive their rights, and to eliminate the evil threat posed by the fraudulent, usurping Zionist regime,” the Leader said in a letter written on July 4, 2020, in response to a letter written by Ismail Haniyeh, the Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau.
Last month, Haniyeh thanked Iran for supplying military support and financial backing during the recent Israeli war on Gaza and Palestinians in occupied territories.
He thanked “the Islamic Republic of Iran; who did not hold back with money, weapons and technical support.”
