According to alkhaleej.ae website, members of the organizing committee and the panel of judges attended the ceremony, which began with recitation of verses of the Quran.
Then, Saeed Harib, deputy head of the committee, delivered a speech in which he said the 24th edition of the competition on the most beautiful Tarteel recitation of the Quran was held with the full observation of the health protocols.
He added that a total of 1,000 reciters competed in the preliminary round and the winners made it to the 5-day finals.
Later at the ceremony, the winners, who were from Egypt, India, Morocco, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the UAE, Pakistan and Syria, received their awards.
