Iran Quran Contest: Semifinal’s Schedule Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – According to a new announcement, participants in the 44th Iran’s National Quran Competition will record their performance in the semifinal stage in mid-October.

Organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, this is the 44th edition of the national contest which is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in the society.

According to earlier figures, some 31,000 people took part in the town and provincial stages of the contest in different categories in September and now winners will compete in the semifinal stage.

The categories of the contest include memorization, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran.

According to the announcement, participants should go to their provincial department of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization on October 17 and 18 to record their performance.

The board of referees will review the recitations in the month of Aban (October 23 – November 21).

Winners will make it to the final stage of the event which is slated to be held in Dey (December-January) and those winning the competition will represent the country in international Quran contests.
