TEHRAN (IQNA) – Thousands of people in Kashmir took part in a ceremony held to celebrate Milad-Un-Nabi, marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The occasion marks one of the most important Muslim religious festivals that is celebrated more gloriously year after year.

This year, too, despite the coronavirus pandemic, Kashmiri Muslims enthusiastically attended the ceremonies in large numbers.

Tuesday, October 19, was the 12th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rabi al-Awwal, which, according to Sunni Muslims, marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Shia Muslims worldwide celebrate the auspicious occasion on the 17th day of the month (which falls on Sunday, October 24).
