Int’l Conference in Saudi Arabia to Discuss Islamic Arts in Mosques

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference is planned to be held in Saudi Arabia later this month to discuss Islamic arts in mosques.

The Ithra International Cultural Center and Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture will jointly organize the event in the city of Dhahran starting on November 3, Alyaum reported.

“Creativity in Architecture” will be the main theme of the conference, which will be attended by 25 representatives of regional countries.

According to Abdullah al-Rashid, director of Ithra, it will reflect on the cultural, religious and historical identity of mosques.

It will also underline the importance of studying mosques’ historical heritage and presenting it to the future generations in a modern way.

The conference will include several forums as well as an exhibition titled “Mosque Art, from Tradition to Modernity”.
