Uganda’s Islamic University Ready for Increased Coop. with Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Islamic University in Uganda has expressed readiness to enhance cooperation with Iranian universities.

 

Iran’s cultural attaché to Uganda Mohammadreza Qezelsoflam met and held talks with Dr. Kasozi Idris, the Campus Deputy Director. The sides discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in scientific, educational, and cultural arenas.

Pointing to the scientific growth of Iran, Kasozi Idris said that the Islamic University in Uganda is ready to boost bilateral cooperation with Iranian universities and the cultural office in related fields.

He said that the university is offering associate degree, BA, and MA in Islamic studies, Arabic language, medical sciences, law, arts, and social sciences among others.

Some of the students are very eager to continue postgraduate education in universities in Iran.

For his part, the Iranian envoy touched upon the friendly ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Uganda, noting that the cultural office is ready to implement earlier agreements between the two countries for exchanging students and academics, offering educational grants, supporting theses related to Islam and Iran, holding seminars, workshops, and exhibitions, and establishing Persian language training courses.
