TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Committee for Support of Palestinian People’s Islamic Revolution condemned the United Nations’ silence on the crimes committed by the Zionist regime of Israel against the Palestinians.

In a statement released on Monday on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the committee said the UN has remained passive in the face of the Israeli regime’s crimes, occupation, expulsion of Palestinians from their ancestral lands, and violation of international laws, regulations and UNSC resolutions.

The UN is expected to condemn the Tel Aviv regime’s atrocities, defend the oppressed Palestinian people, restore their rights and prevent the racist regime of Israel’s expansionism and destruction, it said.

The statement also called on all Muslims and the world’s free people to support Palestine and efforts to liberate Jerusalem al-Quds from occupation.

It further urged global condemnation of a recent move by Britain to designate the resistance movement Hamas as a “terrorist organization”.

In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B).

On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine (resolution 181 (II)), which led to the dispersion and loss of home of the Palestinian people.
