TEHRAN (IQNA) – The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization said the “Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution” Statement sets the ground for realization of a new Islamic civilization, adding that Turkey can contribute to development of the civilization.

In a meeting in Tehran with a delegation from Turkey’s Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Assembly, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour said the new Islamic civilization is a human civilization based on principles such as justice, ethics, spirituality, and healthy lifestyle.

He added that it is not limited to Muslim societies but is a civilization for the whole world.

The cleric said Turkey has the potential to contribute to the development of the new Islamic civilization but needs to define its role in it.

He further highlighted the importance that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to interaction with neighboring countries, including Turkey.

He said that, therefore, ICRO’s top priority is also expansion of cultural relations with neighbors.

Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour further stressed the cultural, religious and civilizational closeness of Iran and Turkey.

Qadir Akaras, the head of the Turkish delegation, for his part, congratulated Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour on his recent appointment as head of ICRO.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s achievements shine in the Islamic world and elsewhere.

He also explicated the activities, programs and objectives of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Assembly, which was founded in Istanbul in 2011.
