TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Palestinian resistance movement Hamas official commended Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for defending the the cause of Palestine.

Abdelmadjid Tebboune

Sami Abu Zuhri said Hamas is proud of Algeria’s constant stance that was again expressed by President Tebboune in a speech on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

A major aspect of Tebboune’s remarks was giving assurances that Algeria is not going to join certain Arab regimes in making concessions to the Israeli regime, he added.

Abu Zuhri went on to say that the Algerian president’s words reflect the authenticity of Algiers’ position, given that the issue of Palestine is one of the most prominent elements of Algeria’s policy.

In his speech on Monday, Tebboune reiterated Algeria’s support for the struggle of Palestinian people to recover its stolen rights.

He called on the international community “to assume its historic responsibilities towards the violation, by Zionist occupation, of international law and its practices to impose the status quo policy, withdraw its commitments and deny agreements in order to hamper the building of the sovereign Palestinian state.”

On this occasion that marks the recognition of historic injustice suffered by the valiant Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to recover their stolen rights, the Algerian president recalled that the status of the Palestinian cause as regards to the crimes committed by the Zionisit occupation forces “requires the international community to deploy more efforts in order to bring the UN, particularly its Security Council, to honor its commitments to defend international law and order, to work to hold the Zionist occupation to account for the overruns and violations committed against the Palestinian people and to ensure international protection.”

He recalled, in this regard, the Algerian approach based on the principle stipulating that “no solution can be reached without the involvement of the Palestinians.”
