Russia’s Orthodox Church Hails Religious Cooperation with Iran
TEHRAN (IQNA) – An official with the Russian Orthodox Church welcomed cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of interfaith and religious dialogue.
In a letter to Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, the official congratulated the ICRO chief for sending a message of congratulations on the occasion of Jesus Christ’s (AS) birthday.
He said it showed the high level of respect and trust between the followers of the two faiths.
The Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk also noted that the two sides will mark the 20th anniversary of activities of the Iran-Russia interfaith duologue commission for talks between Islam and Orthodox Christianity.
He hoped for further development of ties in serving friendship, understanding and mutual respect between the people of Russia and Iran.
